RUMFORD — The Rumford Public Library is hosting a book signing and presentation by a local author from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the library’s community room.
Library Director Luke Sorenson said that Maine author Diane Taylor-Moore Hines will visit the library to sign copies of her most recent book, “Here Sits a Monkey,” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Sorenson said that Taylor-Moore Hines approached the Rumford Library about holding a book signing and reading, which will run in conjunction with the library’s monthly Mystery Readers group.
“Diane’s book is actually a mystery, so it fits perfectly with the Mystery Readers group,” Sorenson said.
The Mystery Readers group started “quite awhile ago,” Sorenson said, adding that it’s been “since before I started working at the library.
“Michelle Larsen, of Larsen’s Electric Service, helps run the group and keeps it going from month to month,” Sorenson said.
Following the book signing, the Mystery Readers group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m., where Taylor-Moore Hines will read from her book and give a presentation.
