1916 – 2014

RUMFORD — Frank A. Stasulis, 98, of Rumford, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Rumford Hospital.

He was born in Rumford on May 12, 1916, the son of Frank and Annie (Kawlaicze) Stasulis, and attended schools in Norwood, Mass. Frank worked for Oxford Paper Co., and Boise Cascade Paper Co., in Rumford, in the finishing room, until his retirement.

He was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church, and enjoyed fishing and working in his garden.

He was married on Jan. 8, 1949, to Mary J. Velush, who died in Rumford on April 30, 2010.

Survivors include his sister, Adele Macys, of Malden, Mass.; a niece, Diane Macys, of Swampscott, Mass.; a nephew, Edward Macys, of Lancaster, Pa.; and a close cousin, Margaret Martineau, of Mexico.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife and stepfather, Joseph Ploplis.
