Last ‘famous’ supper of season
BOLSTERS MILLS — The Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church will hold its last “famous” chicken pie supper of the season Saturday, Oct. 18, at the church in Bolsters Mills Village, Harrison.
Seatings will be at 5 and 6 p.m., with a third to follow at 7 p.m. if needed. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Dinner includes chicken pie, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, rolls, homemade dessert and beverage and is served family style.
Although accommodations will be made to the extent possible so as to not turn anyone away, it is recommended that reservations be made the morning of the supper between 9 and noon. Call 583-9024 during those hours for confirmation. Do not leave a message.
The church is handicap accessible and air conditioned.
Food drive for the Sweden Food Pantry
SWEDEN — A food drive for the Sweden Food Pantry will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 and 19, at Pietree. Cash and non-perishable donations will be accepted.
On Sunday, Oct. 19, Tricky Britches will perform a concert and there will be an apple crisp social.
Bring in a cash or nonperishable donation for the Sweden Food Pantry and enjoy apple crisp from noon to 2 p.m. Then dance it off with Tricky Britches in concert from 2 to 4 p.m. Suggested cash donation is $3.
Finnish American Heritage Society
WEST PARIS — The regular monthly meeting of the Finnish American Heritage Society will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
Following a brief business meeting and coffee social, Natalie Parsons will speak on her recent visit to South Africa.
VFW plans Oct. 19 breakfast
HARRISON — The Ronald St. John VFW Post, 176 Waterford Road, will hold its popular breakfast from 8 to 10 am. Sunday, Oct. 19.
The breakfast features scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, home fries, bacon sausage, gravy and biscuits, sweet breads, fruit cups, orange juice and beverage. Adults $7 per person and children under 10, $3.
Spurrs Corner food pantry hours
OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The pantry is open to residents of Otisfield on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. For information call 583-4780 or 627-4329.

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 10. A seven table Mitchell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing second in flight B N/S were Connie and Ron Reynolds (Auburn); third, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr (South Paris), who also were first in flight C; fourth in flight B, Eilene Potvin (Cundy’s Harbor) and Della Starbird (Oxford).
