LISBON — Police have arrested two suspects in a Bowdoinham Road burglary that was captured by a surveillance camera Thursday.
A third suspect is being sought.
Richard Veilleux Jr., 24, and Shana Ambrus, 27, both of Auburn, were arrested in Auburn on Friday by Lisbon police Detective William Tapley, according to a Police Department news release. Later Friday, police were still searching for Guy C. Childs Jr., 39, formerly of Lisbon, as the third suspect.
Police said the trio were caught on video Thursday night by a homeowner’s security camera. In addition to the video footage, Lisbon police said they also obtained helpful information through social media.
Lisbon investigators notified police in Auburn about the theft and the search continued. After the video footage aired on local media outlets, police said several tips were called in to the Lisbon Police Department.
At about 12:30 a.m. Friday, police captured Ambrus and Veilleux on Center Street in Auburn. Both were charged with felony counts of burglary and theft. They were being held later Friday at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
The suspects are accused of stealing a 52-inch television and video games, investigators said. Some of the stolen items have been recovered.
Veilleux and Ambrus are originally from Pittsfield, Mass., according to court records. Each has a criminal history in the Lewiston-Auburn area, as does Childs, who is from Lewiston.
