1966 – 2014
SALEM TOWNSHIP — Thomas Poulin, “Tom,” 48, of Farmington, died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Wednesday morning, Oct. 15.
He was born in Lewiston on April 29, 1966, and was the adopted son of Raymond and Constance (Drapeau) Poulin. He was a 1984 graduate of Cony High School in Augusta and continued his education at Kennebec Valley Vocational Technical Institute, where he earned his EMT basic certification.
Tom was employed as an EMT in Boston and later at C.E.S. in Livermore Falls. He enjoyed entertaining folks when he was self-employed as a DJ for T.N.S. Entertainment. For many years, Tom was a district manager at the Bangor Daily News. He later worked for Pine State Trading Co. in Augusta, before becoming a district manager at the Morning Sentinel. He had been employed part-time as a licensed funeral service attendant for Wiles Funeral Homes for a few years.
For many years, particularly throughout his children’s youth, he delivered papers and often let his children and their friends ride with him on his route. At the time of his death, he was a delivery driver for the Morning Sentinel and the Sun Journal.
Tom was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, and in his spare time took great pride and enjoyment in keeping a well-manicured lawn.
Without question, he loved his children dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Bilodeau), of Farmington, whom he married on Sept. 27, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farmington; his daughter, Melissa Rackliff and her husband, Dennis, of Beaufort, S.C.; his son, Tyler Thomas Poulin, of Farmington; his stepchildren, Kaitlyn Wood and Colby Wood and his wife, Katie, all of Skowhegan; and two sisters, Carlene Kim Stairs and her husband, Chris, of New Brunswick, Canada, and Kathie Gray and her husband, Norman, of Auburn.
He was predeceased by his parents.
