This grant is enabling CMCC to address the growing need in Maine for skilled information technology workers across many industries. The College is offering new and expanded professional certifications, advanced academic certificates, and two-year degree programs, such as the Network Security and Computer Forensics degree added this fall.
Two new computer labs are now online: The Assessment and Testing Center for students to demonstrate skills for certification from companies such as Microsoft and Cisco; and a simulation lab that includes an imaging server to quickly configure lab computers for use by a variety of different classes and students. It also includes portable hard drives which students can use to install, configure, and test various operating system setups and test resilience to cyber attacks.
