- “Big D,” a large pumpkin intricately carved by Dana Temple of Roxbury Pond Village, greets and frightens customers walking through the covered foyer into Ellis Pond Variety on Thursday. Clerks Darla Patneaude and Julie Webber said it took Temple four hours to carve the pumpkin, which was one of several he did for area businesses.
