AUBURN — Bud Madrid Roddy, 40, was arrested Wednesday at his home in Leeds just hours after a grand jury indicted him charges that included reckless conduct with a firearm, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was being held Wednesday night at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn without bail, pending his initial appearance in court.
The arrest followed his failure to appear in Androscoggin County Superior Court in in Auburn on Oct. 30 to answer accusations that he fired a gun during an argument.
He was arrested Aug. 25 after a fight between his family and a neighbor’s family in Greene. During the fight, Roddy reportedly went home and returned with a gun, according to police. He ran home again, then fled into nearby woods and was arrested after authorities spotted him with night-vision glasses.
The nine-count indictment accuses Roddy of hurting two people and threatening to hurt more with a gun and a baseball bat.
Among the other charges were attempted aggravated assault for swinging the bat at one person and criminal trespassing for staying on someone’s property after he was ordered to leave.
