PORTLAND — Police have arrested a man they say injured himself when he fell from a rope he was using to rappel down a fire escape after breaking into a flower shop.
Officers found the suspect lying on the ground on Congress Street in Portland at about 10 p.m. Saturday.
The man was treated at the scene and then arrested on charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.
Police say the man tried to rob the florist’s then was using a rope to rappel down the fire escape when he fell.
His name was not made public.
