HARRISON — Harrison Parks and Rec. has announced the following activities and programs for the cold months of winter.

Youth basketball girls and boys in grades 1-6. Practice will be held during the week and games will played on Saturdays beginning in December. Practices are held at the Harrison School Gym and Saturday games are in Harrison and various gyms in the district.

Coed adult basketball: Ages 18-plus on Mondays from 6 to 7:50 p.m. in the Harrison School Gym. Sneakers required.

Coed teen sports night: Ages 13-17 on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:50 p.m. in the Harrison school gym. Choose from basketball, floor hockey or volleyball. Sneakers required.

Over 40 pickleball: This activity is a cross between tennis and ping pong. Some paddles available or bring your own and wiffle balls provided. It will take place on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Terrific Tuesdays at the community room: The first Tuesday of the month is the senior lunch with games from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy a delicious hot meal, guess the candies in the jar, play word games and bingo with prizes. Cost is $3.

On the other Tuesdays, lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Stop in during this time with friends or meet new friends while enjoying delicious sandwiches, dessert and beverage (sometimes soup and hot sandwiches will be offered). Cost is $3.

Seniors play games on Tuesday afternoons or stay after lunch from 1 to 3 p.m. to play cards, cribbage, board games or bring a project you are working on.

“Wack”y Wednesdays: Play ping pong in the Community Room from 1 to 3 p.m. Two tables are set up for play and paddles and balls are available. Starts Dec. 3.
