LEWISTON – All educators are invited to attend the 7 p.m. preview of “Collected Stories” Thursday, Jan. 22, at The Public Theatre. Admission is free.

“It’s our way of saying thanks to the teachers who play a major role in helping us develop the theatergoers of tomorrow,” said Artistic Director Christopher Schario. “Last season over 5,000 students attended a student matinee performance at The Public Theatre because teachers took an interest in our programming.”

“Collected Stories,” by Donald Margulies, is a story about a famous writer and her adoring protege. Following her mentor’s advice on how to succeed, a talented and ambitious student progresses quickly from colleague to confidante, and ultimately to rival.

Student matinee performances for “Collected Stories” will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 27-28. Student tickets are $5. Reservations are required.

For more information on student matinees or study guides, visit The Public Theatre’s Web site at www.thepublictheatre.org. The theaters is at Lisbon and Maple streets.
