RUMFORD — Bedford Falls comes to Rumford Falls when 49 Franklin and Paper Moon Players present “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry, and original music and musical arrangements by Kevin Connors. This dramatic musical will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 19 and 20; and a matinee at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21.

Based on the beloved Frank Capra film, this presentation takes place in a 1946 radio station in front of a studio audience where an ensemble of actors and one clever sound man take on all the roles to tell the story of idealistic George Bailey who contemplates life and death one fateful Christmas Eve.

Harken back to the days when families would huddle around the radio to listen to current films adapted for radio audiences. This classic tale of family and the power of community in the face of hard times is a reminder that no man is a failure if he has friends.

The ensemble of nine performers features Stephen Penney as George Bailey and Sara-mae Parlin as Mary Hatch. Jennifer Foster, Eric Schmersal, Zac Calden, Scot Grassette, Brayden Duguay, Virginia Owings and Amara Aiken round out the cast playing 40 other characters who appear in this timeless story.

Produced by Cindy and Scot Grassette, this production is being directed by Keith A. Grassette assisted by Hope Fallon and Carmen Diconzo.

Doors will open one hour before showtime. Tickets are $15 and are available at Bartash and All That Jazz or online.
