BOWDOINHAM – An opening reception for “Wooden Works,” an exhibit at Merrymeeting Arts Center, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10. The art show explores the diversity of wood and the artists who work it. Featured are tables and chairs, bowls, shrines, magical wands and more.

Regular gallery hours are noon to 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; or call for an appointment. The arts center is at 9 Main St.
