1948 – 2015

NAUGATUCK, Conn. — Howard Michael Ward Sr., 67, of Naugatuck, Conn., died Saturday, Jan. 17, at his home. He was the husband of Frances Ann (Samela) Ward.

Howard was born in Bridgeport, Conn., on Jan. 3, 1948, a son of Milton F. Ward of New Britain, Conn., and the late Cora (Bussiere) Ward.

He retired from Pitney Bowes, where he worked in electronic printing. He enjoyed working with electricity and magnets, building, fixing things and working on cars.

He was an extremely handy man.

He will be missed by his special friend Suzie.

Howard proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife and father, Howard is survived by a son, Howard Michael Ward Jr. of Naugatuck, Conn.; two daughters, Celina Ward of New Britain Conn., and Colleen Ward-Henriques and her husband, Humberto “Al,” of Prospect, Conn.; a sister, Sheila Ward and her husband, John Labieniec, of New Britain, Conn.; two grandsons, Cristiano Henriques and Xavier Ward-Cardona; two granddaughters, Kathleen Henriques and Emma Henriques; two special cousins, Roland and Terri Bussiere; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Doughty) Ward; and his mother, Cora (Bussiere) Ward.
