1920 – 2015
We mourn the passing of Doris Margaret Cox, 94, née Doris Wagner, of Brick, N.J., and formerly of Lewiston, who died Friday, Feb. 6, at the Brandywine Assisted Living Center in Brick, N.J.
She was born in Rumford on Aug. 28, 1920, the daughter of Percy and Jennifer Labrie Wagner. She was educated in local schools and worked as the office manager for Knapp Shoes Inc. for many years.
Her husband, Walter Cox, to whom she was married for 67 years, passed away in 2007.
Our mother was a loving, meticulous and proud woman. We will miss her, the stories of her life in Maine, and especially the way she appeared each day, fully dressed as if it were Sunday with pretty brooches pinned to her dress.
She was the proud mother of two sons, Michael and Stephen, five grandchildren, Todd, Lisa, Andréa, Christopher and Matt, ten great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Also deeply saddened by her passing are her two daughters-in-law, Teri and Kathy, her four close sisters-in-law, Collette, Frances, Patricia and Edie, as well as a host of friends from New Jersey, where she was last living.
