World Day of Prayer at Buckfield Church
BUCKFIELD — The Buckfield Community Church will host the World Day of Prayer at 1 p.m. Friday, March 6.
The program will be presented by the North Livermore Baptist Church women.
This year the service was written by the women of the Bahamas. It will be heard by people over the entire world on this day.
The public is most welcome for this service.

Trivia Night benefits Boxberry School
OXFORD — Trivia Night will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Cafe Nomad. All proceeds benefit the Boxberry School.
The theme will be “All About Maine.” Make or join teams of four. Cost is $15 per person. Snacks and finger foods will be provided. There will also be raffle goody baskets.
Child care is available at CEBE, across the street. There will be activities, a movie and popcorn provided. Cost is $5 per child for Boxberry families, $10 per child for others.

Introduction to polarity therapy
BETHEL — “Energy Medicine for Your Health: An Introduction to Polarity Therapy” will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Telstar High School, Room 131.
Presenter will be Emily Ecker, LCSW and polarity therapist.
Polarity therapy works to restore balance and wholeness by utilizing gentle touch to direct the healing energy to specific areas in the body. Benefits include relief from chronic health issues and enhanced mental and emotional clarity.
Throughout the workshop Ecker will integrate information with self-care techniques including the Polarity pathway, the Star pathway which can bring relaxation, balance and a greater sense of well-being.

Suicide prevention program at Zadoc library
BUCKFIELD — Zadoc Long Free Library will host two free workshops for adults on “Suicide Prevention-What We Need To Know” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, and again at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21.
The library is at 5 Turner St. It is the red building next door to Tilton’s Market on Route 117.
These one-hour-long sessions will be presented by Cheryl Morin from the JD Foundation in Abbott. Cheryl and her husband, Vic, tragically lost their son, JD, to suicide in 2012 and they and others created the nonprofit JD Foundation in their son’s memory and to help others learn about suicide prevention. Cheryl and Vic have conducted numerous training sessions around the state.
To attend either workshop, call Bonnie Santos, library director, at 336-2171 by March 11 to reserve a seat. Space is limited so it will be “first to call, first to have a reserved seat.”

Caregiver Support Group in Rangeley
RANGELEY — SeniorsPlus is holding a Caregiver Support Group at The Rangeley Town Office. The group will meet the second Thursday of each month, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The next one will be held on March 12.
This support group is for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. This is a wonderful chance to connect with others, share experiences, gain information, support and a friendly ear.
You do not have to preregister to attend the support group.

Career scholarships available
FARMINGTON — The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is once again offering health career scholarships. Scholarships will be presented to students in need of financial assistance who reside in Greater Franklin County, including Livermore Falls and Livermore, and are pursuing careers in the health care field.
To be eligible, applications must be completed and returned by April 15. Applicants must also have been accepted to a school of their choice by that date.
In May, the Auxiliary will select six recipients for the $600 scholarships. The funds will be awarded following the successful completion of the first semester of post-secondary school.
