Art Night Out with Artascope Studios – Collage Resin Coasters: Design your own mini collages and turn them into a set of four high-quality customized coasters. Utilize the extensive collection of background papers, small photos and found text, or bring your own laser-copied ephemera to create a truly personalized set of coasters. This is a great way to preserve vacation memories, original artwork or cherished photos of loved ones.

Note: Each participant will receive their own 1 ounce tube of resin and four self-adhesive felt pieces to complete their coasters at home. If using your own images, only laser copies will work. Coaster size is roughly 3.25 inches square. Workshop fee includes all materials to make a set of four coasters. March 31, 6-8 p.m.

CPR/AED/First Aid: Patty Carroll, an AHA certified CPR, AED and first aid instructor, will teach these valuable skills to assist in an emergency. Learn techniques for performing CPR on adults, children and infants and the use of an AED when available. Learn first aid techniques for emergencies while waiting for help to arrive. Receive a student handbook and a certification card upon class completion. Tuesdays, April 7 and 14, and Thursday, April 9. $85.

Digital Camera Basics: Learn the basics of your digital camera, including some of the more common settings and how to best take everyday snapshots. Tips and options on getting your photos processed will also be covered. Jennifer Lamoreau has seven years of experience as a professional photographer. Bring your fully charged camera, extra batteries and your instruction manual. Thursday, April 16, 6-8 p.m.

Fitness For Life: Step aerobics and resistance exercises for cardio, tone, strength and overall fitness. Although all ages and abilities are welcome to attend, this class will challenge you, so you should be ready to sweat. For questions about the content, call instructor Deb Carroll at 576-7158. Forensics: Detective Terence James from the Maine State Police is back for an encore. There’s no telling what he’ll share with us this time, but you can be sure it will involve something within his area of expertise in investigative analysis. Microsoft Excel Online: For those who are computer proficient but don’t have lots of time to spare. Learn the basics of Excel through online tutorials developed by instructor Nate LaClaire. Meet face-to-face on the first night, and work on online assignments at your own pace from home over the rest of the seven-week session, with email and video chat support available. Classes begin on Tuesday, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. $45.

The Power of Prevention!: Cancer has impacted almost everyone and strikes fear in the hearts of many. There are ways, however, to reduce the risk. In this class with instructor Nate LaClaire, explore not only how to clean your social media profiles of content that might get you rejected, but also how to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networks to make yourself more attractive to employers.

Tips for Healthy Eating: Learn tips for choosing and preparing healthy foods and beverages on a limited budget. This fun, interactive session, complete with demo and tasting, is taught by Emily Horton, a trained nutrition professional who will provide easy tips on how to cook, shop and eat healthier, all while saving money.
