AUBURN (AP) — Republican Gov. Paul LePage is continuing his tour of Maine with a stop in Auburn to garner support for his proposed budget.

LePage will hold a town hall on Wednesday at Edward Little High School in Auburn from 6 to 7 p.m.

The governor will take questions from the public about his plan to lower the income tax while raising and expanding the sales tax. LePage also wants to eliminate the estate tax and the tax on military pensions.

Wednesday’s event will be the third town hall that the governor has held on his ambitious tax plan. His first stop was in Westbrook last month and he visited Bangor last week.

Next week, LePage plans to hold an event the University of Maine at Presque Isle. In April, he will visit Ellsworth and Belfast.
