AUGUSTA (AP) — A Waterville man who once volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America has been sent to jail for six months after pleading guilty to a charge of possessing child pornography.
The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/1CuGUbt ) reported that Charles Tisdale Jr. was sentenced to serve six months of a two-year sentence, and two years’ probation.
Prosecutors say investigators found 23 images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct on the 28-year-old Tisdale’s work laptop.
At the time of Tisdale’s arrest in 2011, police said he had been affiliated with the Boy Scouts for six years and that he had regular contact with children through his work. Police say there is no evidence he had any criminal contact with children.
His work with the Boy Scouts had been largely with adult volunteers.
