TURNER — SAD 52 Adult & Community Education classes during the week of April 27 are:
Dog obedience: Train your dog to be well mannered and obedient. Understand and communicate with your dog, learn basic obedience commands, leash walking and behavior modification. Students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Non-chain leashes, well-fitting collar and current rabies shot required.
SAD 52 substitute teacher training: This course is one step in the substitute teacher application process for the district. Learn about school expectations, lesson plans and assertive discipline. A high school diploma is required, college degree preferred
iPhone, iPad & iTouch for beginners: Learn the basics of Apple products. Bring a list of tasks you want to learn. The instructor will assess student needs to determine topics for the following classes.
Pottery: A second session of pottery classes begins Wednesday, April 29, and runs through Wednesday, May 27. Create unique pieces while exploring the wheel, hand-building and glazing techniques. The classes run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; cost is $65, plus a $15 material fee.
Classes offered during the first week of May are:
Backcountry basics: Learn how to enhance your hiking, backpacking or bird-watching experience and safety. The class will cover three-season hazards, such as weather, getting lost, stream crossings, safe drinking water, sanitation, environmental emergencies, equipment, clothing shelter and more. The information is useful to paddlers as well.
Alcohol ink painting: Painting with alcohol inks on yupo paper for unparalleled color, spontaneity and vibrancy. No experience is required and all supplies are included.
