AUGUSTA — A fire in an apartment building at 15 State Street on Friday night displaced 13 people. The fire was reported by a resident of the building shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Rescue crews got everyone out of the building safely. One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

According to WGME 13, a section of at least one other building caught fire briefly before firefighters put it out. 

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The neighborhood has suffered several fires over the past year.
