1948 – 2015
AUBURN — George E. Morin 66, of West Poland, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, at the Hospice House in Auburn after a long illness.
He was born in Sanford on May 28, 1948, the son of Marie L. Morin and Earl R. Morin. He graduated from Mechanic Falls High School.
He married the love of his life, Merry A. Morin, on July 12, 1980. Together, they had many good times, camping, boating, going to truck pulls at local fairs, four-wheeling, dancing, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
He enjoyed his many four-wheeling trips with the guys and helping out with the truck pulls at the local fairs and hunting and fishing. He was a hunter’s safety instructor for the Oxford Fish & Game Club in the 1980s and enjoyed working on racecars at the speedway.
He worked for many years for Dale Verrill’s Excavating & Land and Richard Tibbetts, as well as Commercial Paving and Sumner Sessions Excavation.
He is survived by his four children, Robert Billings and wife, Tammy, of Norfolk, Va., Lisa Palmer and husband, Bob, of South Paris, Alan Morin of Harpswell, and Lisa Gosselin of Edgecomb. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Kesseli, Morgan Kesseli, Everett Perry, Brooke Billings, Molly Billings and Monique Gosselin; a stepgranddaughter, Brianna Palmer; one very special great-granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Varney; his stepdad, Bruce Butler, brothers, Maurice, Bobby and Wayne; and sisters, Donna, Juanita and Kathy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife and his parents; as well as a special niece, Siri Morin.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
