AUBURN — Iris Abbott’s three-run home run sparked a 13-run explosion in the third inning as Oak Hill overwhelmed St. Dom’s, 19-0, in KVAC softball action Monday.

Kayla Veilleux, Hannah Nadeau, Emma Hlister and Abbott led the Raiders with multiple hits in a well-balanced attack. Sadie Goulet hurled a no-hitter to earn the shutout.

Buckfield 17, Valley 5

BUCKFIELD — Amber Arsenault scattered six hits and walked one in six innings of work as Buckfield hustled to a 17-5 EWC victory over Valley Monday.

Ashley Campbell led the Bucks (4-1) with three hits and three RBIs, while Kali Litchfield and Alexis Bennett also pounded out three hits. Arsenault helped her own cause with three hits, while Brianna Damon belted out two.

The Cavaliers (0-3) put four runs on the board in the third frame after trailing 8-0 after two innings.

Messalonskee 8, Mt. Blue 0

OAKLAND — Kristen Pelletier hurled seven innings of three-hit ball Monday as Messalonskee shut down Mt. Blue, 8-0, in KVAC softball action.

Maddisyn Charest led the Eagles (4-1) with three hits, while Sarah Labbe had two.

The Cougars (2-4) committed seven errors in the contest, while Caitlin Kane suffered the loss after working the first two frames.

Poland 13, Kennebunk 7

KENNEBUNK — Poland erupted for seven runs in the second inning Monday and raced away to post a 13-7 victory over Kennebunk in a WMC softball matchup.

Catcher Kelsey DeBurra led the Knights (4-2) with two hits and four RBIs, while Kylie Martin pounded out three hits with two RBIs. Haley Whitworth also contributed with two hits and two RBIs.

Meg Dube suffered the loss for Kennebunk after working the first three frames.

Skowhegan 12, Lewiston 0

SKOWHEGAN — Ashley Alwald scattered four hits and drew ample run support as Skowhegan overpowered Lewiston, 12-0, in more KVAC softball action Monday.

The sister act of Eliza and Wylie Bedard combined for six hits and four RBIs to lead the undefeated Indians (5-0). Annie Worther also contributed with an RBI triple.

The winless Blue Devils (0-6) were paced by Emily Mousseau with two hits in the contest, while starter Megan Theriault suffered the loss.

Madison 9, Dirigo 2

DIXFIELD — Madison took advantage of eight Dirigo errors to notch a 9-2 victory in MVC softball action Monday afternoon.

Ashley Emery had a pair of hits and collected one of the Bulldogs’ (5-0) five RBIs. Kayla Bess and Sydney LeBlanc crossed the plate twice for Madison.

The Cougars (3-2) scored both of their runs in the home half of the second inning. Katelyn Olsen and Megan Bradbury accounted for those runs and recorded two stolen bases each.

Edward Little 12, Brewer 0

AUBURN — Senior left fielder Hannah Smith had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored as Edward Little blanked Brewer 12-0 in five innings in KVAC softball action Monday afternoon.

Junior second baseman Delaney Davis provided the Witches (2-2) with a single and a double.

Sophomore first baseman Jordyn Reynolds, who had three hits, plated the courtesy runner, Maddie Thistlewaite, in the fifth inning with a walk-off double for the win.

Leavitt 11, Maranacook 7

READFIELD — Junior first baseman Katie DeBlois nearly hit for the cycle with a double, triple and home run as Leavitt grabbed an 11-7 victory over Maranacook in KVAC softball action Monday afternoon.

First baseman Amber Ridlon contributed a single and a double for the Black Bears (2-3) to go along with two RBIs.

DeBlois launched her three-run homer in the fifth inning. Junior designated hitter Maddie Green recorded a pair of doubles and four RBIs for the Hornets (5-1).

Oxford Hills 15, Lawrence 2

FAIRFIELD — Senior first baseman Anna Winslow rattled off three hits and three RBIs as Oxford Hills sailed to a 15-2 rout of Lawrence in six innings in KVAC softball action Monday afternoon.

Sydney Knowlton recorded two of the Bulldogs eight hits.

The Vikings (6-1) jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning with a five-hit, six-run offense in the frame. Junior designated hitter and relief pitcher, Erika Whitman, contributed two hits and three RBIs for Oxford Hills.

Mountain Valley 15, Boothbay 0

RUMFORD — Emily Laubauskas had a big day at the plate, dring in two runs on a double and another two on a triple in Mountain Valley’s 15-0 win over Boothbay (2-3).

The Falcons (2-3) put up over six runs in the bottom of first and fourth innings while scoring three in the third.

Lindsay Marston, Karen Flaherty and Abby Mazza each had a double in the victory.

Girls’ lacrosse

Messalonskee 13, Edward Little 5

OAKLAND — India Languet netted four goals Monday to lead Messalonskee to a 13-5 victory over Edward Little in KVAC girls’ lacrosse action.

Lydia Dexter and Natalie St. Pierre chipped in for the Eagles (3-0) with three goals apiece, while single tallies from Ally Turner, RaeAnn DeRaps and Emma Dehetrie completed the scoring.

The Red Eddies (0-3) received three goals from Fran Haines, while Haley Frohlick and Danielle Gagne also tallied. Sydni Collier made seven saves for Messalonskee, while Mariah Vaillancourt turned aside eight shots for Edward Little.

Baseball

Mountain Valley 3, Boothbay 2

RUMFORD — Sophomores Nick Newman and John Pepin combined for a 3-hitter as Mountain Valley secured a 3-2 victory over Boothbay in MVC baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Falcons (3-2) posted single runs in each of the first three innings. Josh Mason recorded two hits and two runs for Mountain Valley. Senior second baseman Nick Burge smashed a two-run home run in the fifth inning for the Seahawks (0-4). But Boothbay couldn’t muster another run through the completion of the game.

Dirigo 4, Madison 0

DIXFIELD — Gavin Arsenault pitched six shutout innings and struck out 11 Monday, leading Dirigo to its fourth consecutive MVC baseball victory, 4-0 over Madison.

Gavin Hebert and Anthony Todd knocked RBI singles for the Cougars (4-1). Tyler Frost belted a double. Derek LeBlanc had two of Madison’s three hits.

Kennebunk 4, Poland 2

KENNEBUNK — The catcher, Kip Richard, provided two hits and two RBIs as Kennebunk siezed a 4-2 victory over Poland in baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Rams collected all four of their runs in the fifth inning. Jack Lapham conributed a pair of hits.

The Knights attempted a last-inning rally, but came up short with just two runs. Alex Biron and Adam Mocciola posted a hit and a run each for Poland.

Oak Hill 3, St. Dom’s 1

AUBURN — Senior second baseman Adam Merrill singled in the eventual game-winning run in the second inning as Oak Hill plucked a 3-1 victory over St. Dom’s in MVC baseball action Monday afternoon.

Senior pitcher Mitch Lorenz tossed a five-strikeout, complete game despite taking the loss for the Saints (3-2).

Junior pitcher Matt Arnold dispatched three batters in 5 1/3 innings of work for the Raiders (2-3).

Brewer 9, Edward Little 3

AUBURN — Sophomore catcher Alex Maxsimic recorded a double and two runs as Brewer jettisoned Edward Little 9-3 in KVAC baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Witches (3-2) were hot in the opening innings, scoring two, three and four runs for a total of nine before C.J. Jipson came on in relief and shut down their run production.

Greg Warmuth and Jacob Currier contributed a pair of runs each for Brewer.

Junior shortstop Austin Cox furnished the Red Eddies (3-3) with a pair of hits and runs.

Yarmouth 19, Gray-NG 6

YARMOUTH — Designated hitter Luke Klenda ripped three hits, including a home run, as Yarmouth pounded Gray-New Gloucester 19-6 in WMC baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Clippers (3-1) scored six times in the first inning and collected 19 hits through seven innings of relentless offense. Left fielder C.J. Cawley gathered up three hits, a walk, two runs and an RBI for Yarmouth.

OAKLAND — Messalonskee put a pair of runs on the board early and hung on to post a 2-0 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC baseball action Monday.

Jake Dexter led the unbeaten Eagles (5-0) with a two hits and one RBI. Josh Joy gave up just two hits to earn the shutout.

Colton Lawrence went the distance for Mt. Blue (4-2) and suffered the loss.

Skowhegan 1, Lewiston 0

SKOWHEGAN — Two throwing errors were all it took for Skowhegan to sneak past Lewiston 1-0 in a summer-like KVAC baseball matchup Monday.

Isiaih Vigue scattered three hits in seven innings for the Indians (2-4) to notch the shutout.

Michael Wong went the distanced for winless Lewiston (0-6).

Oxford Hills 13, Lawrence 2

FAIRFIELD — Oxford Hills jumped out to a five-run advantage in the first frame and raced away to a 13-2 rout of Lawrence in KVAC baseball action Monday.

Aiden Heikkinen led the Vikings (5-1) with two hits and three RBIs, while Brady Lafrance also belted out a pair of hits.

The Bulldogs (2-4) could only muster two hits in the contest and finally scored after trailing by seven after two innings.
