PERU — Board of Selectmen secretary Angela Barkhouse said the board decided Tuesday to reprint the second page of the June 9 referendum ballot to fix a misprint on an article.

During the May 11 public hearing on the town meeting warrant, Finance Committee member John Witherell said the warrant stated the Finance Committee recommended a yes vote on Article 23. It asks residents to allow the town to raise and appropriate $10,000 to support operations of the Peru Community Center under the supervision of the Board of Selectmen.

Witherell said the Finance Committee voted to not recommend the article.

Barkhouse said selectmen decided to reprint the second page with the correct recommendation.

“We haven’t sent out any absentee ballots yet, so it won’t be too hard to reprint that page,” she said.
