Take me out to the ball game
The Norway Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite everyone to the annual Don Butters Memorial Game at the Lovejoy Farm Sports Complex on Thursday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
Butters was the key toconstructing the field. He donated his own time, machinery and was instrumental in getting others to help with the project.
The Guy E Rowe Elementary Chorus, led by Mr. Hamalainen will sing the National Anthem. Butters’4-year-old granddaughter, Maddie McCartney, will throw out the first pitch. Norway Rec Softball will be selling raffle tickets for a Father’s Day basket, Norway Youth Baseball will conduct a 50/50 for its program The winning ticket will be drawn at the end of the fourth inning and the Snack Shack, run by the Recreation Department, will also be open.
At 6 p.m., the Norway Youth Baseball Majors Game will start, with the Norway Vikings taking on W Mountain. The Battle of Norway Minors Softball will be at the softball field with the Vikings facing Ninjas.
Parking will be limited. Carpooling is recommended

Red Eddies Basketball Camp
The Edward Little Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball Program is taking registrations for the 11th season of the Red Eddies Basketball Camp. Red Eddies Camp is a co-ed program for students entering grades K thru 8. The camp is directed by Mike Adams, the boy’s varsity basketball coach and Craig Jipson, the girl’s varsity coach. Adams and Jipson have combined for 441 career wins, six KVAC Championships and 15 coach-of-the-year awards. Players from the boy’s and girl’s varsity teams serve as camp instructors.
Red Eddies Camp offers six one-week sessions. Players may register for the entire summer or individual weeks. Session 1 begins June 22 and Session 6 ends July 30. Red Eddies Camp focuses on individual player development and fundamental skills. Players will also play games against other communities.
