AUBURN — Clayton E. Weeks, 81, of Roxbury Road in Mexico, passed away on Sunday, May 17, at the Hospice House in Auburn following a brief illness.
He was born in Mexico, a son of Charles L. and Antoinette (Beaudoin) Weeks.
Clayton was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1953.
He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal and was stationed in Germany.
Clayton was employed for over 40 years with Boise Cascade Paper Co. and was a member of the 25- and 40-year club.
He was a member of the Central Maine Pigeon Flyers Club and for several years, he was scout master for Boy Scout Troop 544 in Mexico.
Clayton also loved hunting, fishing, beekeeping, snowmobiling and gardening. His biggest goal in life was to make a new friend every day.
Surviving are his wife of 10½ years, June M. Daigle of Mexico. On May 1 of this year, they renewed their wedding vows. Also surviving are children, Doreen McKay of Lewiston, Charlene Wilson of Lewiston, Clayton Weeks and wife, Carmen, of Oxford, Kevin Weeks and wife, Carole, of Prince George, Va., Sue McPhee and companion, Harry Galarneau, of Dixfield, Joanne Reid and husband, Eric, of Rumford and Andy Daigle of Rumford; a brother, Elmer O. Weeks and wife, Jean, of Oxford, N.J.; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife of 46 years, Rachel Gamache Weeks; a grandson, Brian Godbout; and a great-granddaughter, EmmaLee Rose Jamison.
