1936 – 2015

AUBURN — Lorraine R. Aubut, 78, of Lewiston, died Friday, May 22, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 5, 1936, a daughter of the late Lucien and Lucia (Comeau) Drapeau. She was educated in local schools and then became a registered nurse, working many years at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She also worked at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and was a charge nurse at Clover Manor. Nursing was her life, and she truly cared for all her patients.

Lorraine was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and was now attending the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Queen’s Guild Sodality, and she always stayed in contact with her graduating nurses class.

Lorraine was the most generous and loving person. She lived alone for many years and had one of the nicest yards. No matter the job, she would tackle it on her own. She loved being outdoors and being with family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves a son, Daniel Aubut and his wife, Tracy, of Buckfield; a daughter, Tina Aubut of South Portland; two sisters, Loula Ouellette of Lewiston and Lilly Hill and husband, John, of Illinois; three grandchildren, Erica Poisson, Christopher Aubut and Jennifer Small.
