TUESDAY, June 30
LEWISTON — Lewiston City Council special meeting, 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers on the bottom floor of Lewiston City Hall. Tuesday’s agenda includes a discussion about General Assistance for federally ineligible aliens and a revote on support for the Charter Commission process. Councilors voted 2-5 against supporting the process at their June 16 meeting.
AUBURN — Walking tour of New Auburn neighborhood, 5:30 to 7 p.m. with tour stepping off at Rolly’s Diner. The tour will be lead by Economic Development Specialist Alan Manoian and City Councilor Leroy Walker.

AUBURN — Auburn School Committee, regular meeting, 7 p.m., Auburn Hall, on agenda, annual approval of school physician contract.
THURSDAY, July 2
AUBURN — Children’s Happy Birthday America party, Auburn Public Library, 10 a.m., children’s room. The Wallace family will present a special story time with cake and a parade. Space is limited; parents recommended to register online or call 333-6640, ext. 3.
FRIDAY, July 3
LEWISTON-AUBURN — Fourth of July observed; Lewiston-Auburn city halls, libraries closed.
LEWISTON — Live music by the Veggies and Cold Blue Steel, food vendors and dancing, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. In case of rain, it will be held at the Franco-American Heritage Center, tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Benefits Liberty Festival and Great Falls Balloon Festival.
SATURDAY, July 4
LEWISTON-AUBURN — Liberty Festival, music begins at 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park and Great Falls Plaza. Lineup includes music and funny man Mark Turcotte as emcee, fireworks at 9:30 p.m., food vendors and beer garden available.
