QUEENSBURY, N.Y. — L.L. Bean plans to open its first outlet store in New York state at a popular shopping complex near the Adirondack Mountains.
The Freeport, Maine-based outdoors outfitter expects to open the store in August at the Adirondack Outlet Mall on Route 9 in Queensbury, just south of the tourist village of Lake George.
The 13,600-square-foot store will feature discontinued, overstocked or gently used active and casual apparel and footwear, as well as outdoor gear.
The new store will be located among dozens of other retail shops clustered in four outlet malls located just outside the Adirondack Park.
L..L. Bean has 22 retail stores outside of Maine and 10 outlets in the Mid-Atlantic region. The company’s full-retail New York stores are located in the Albany, Syracuse and Rochester areas and in Yonkers.
