I am writing in response to Dick Warren’s letter (July 14). I applaud his thoughts; they are much the same as mine. I think that Gov. Paul LePage has a lot to deal with and he is too open and honest for those who are looking to pick apart everything he says and bring the hammer down on him.
A Sun Journal story (also July 14) refers to how Nick Danby wrote a letter to Gov. LePage. I thought the quotes from the letter from Danby showed the boy has more savvy than some of Maine’s legislators because he is looking at things in the right perspective and not offering a cop-out to teach someone a lesson. Kudos to Danby.
I am disappointed that immigrants in the area are more of a concern to officials than native Mainers. Haven’t immigrants taken over enough of Mainers’ jobs, and hasn’t the public more than supported them? It is time to take care of our own, who have been pushed aside.
I am all for helping others but there needs to be a cut-off line.
My suggestion is to stop picking apart those in leadership and think about what good is being done and how people can serve this state and its people best.
