FARMINGTON — United Way of the Tri-Valley Area has announced Ellie and Dave Duley of Farmington will now lead the 2015-16 fundraising campaign, with the two serving as co-chairs.
Dave and Ellie met at the University of Maine where Dave graduated with a B.S. in business administration and Ellie graduated with a B.A. in journalism.
Dave, originally from Vienna, and Ellie, from Longmeadow, Mass., raised their two children first in southern Maine, and later in Farmington.
Dave has spent his entire career of over 30 years working for Hannaford Bros. He is currently the director of independent sales.
Ellie worked part-time while raising their children, including writing for the Franklin Journal as well as working at Titcomb and Mt. Blue High School. Ellie returned to school in 2008 and earned an M.S. in school counseling, later working at several school districts as a high school counselor before starting her own independent educational consulting business in 2013.
As co-chairs, the Duleys will engage people and share how United Way significantly impacts the community in many ways, including the funding of 21 programs coordinated by 19 community partners in 2015, offering Venture Grants to support new, collaborative and innovative initiatives that help people thrive and partnering with volunteers to keep people warm through the Community Energy Challenge.
