TURNER —The annual North Turner Union Presbyterian Church Chicken Barbecue will start at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, and continue until the chicken is gone.

The barbecue includes, along with the chicken, fruit, potato and pasta salads and well as rolls, coleslaw and watermelon. Dessert and drinks are always available and, if the weather cooperates, tables are set up outside for folks to enjoy.

This is also the only supper where folks can order their barbecue “to go.”

This will be one of the last two chances to bid on the homemade quilt that is on silent auction during the suppers. There is a bid sheet and the highest bidder at the end of Harvest Supper in October will be announced.

The barbecue will be held at the GAR Hall on Route 219 (Howes Corner Road). Good will donations will be taken at the door and everyone is welcome.

The North Turner Presbyterian Church holds services each Sunday at 9 a.m. and, as part of the congregation’s outreach activities, it runs the Turner Food Bank and the Community Clothing Center. Proceeds from these suppers support these activities and the church.
