Blood pressure focus at Legion

AUBURN — The American Legion Post 153 will hold an informational session about high blood pressure from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.

Professional staff from Central Maine Medical Center will offer blood pressure screening and tips about how to control blood pressure through diet, blood pressure, physical activity and medicine.

High blood pressure, also called hypertension, raises your risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and damage to your eyes. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can injure and kill. It’s sometimes called “the silent killer” because HBP has no symptoms, leaving people unaware that it is damaging arteries, the heart and other organs.

This event is open to the public.
