1949 – 2015

TOPSHAM — William W. Perry, 66, died at his home, Sunday, Aug. 30.

Bill was born in Brunswick on March 2, 1949, the son of Francis and Margaret Powers Perry. He graduated from Falmouth High School in 1967, University of Maine at Portland in 1971 and earned his MBA from New Hampshire College in 1989.

He married Elaine Menard of Brunswick on Feb. 13, 1988.

Bill was an accountant at Pejepscot Paper from 1985-1988; controller, Statler Tissue, 1989-1996; CFO, Enefco International, 1997-2008; and CFO, Gerrity Industries 2009-2014. He retired in the summer of 2014.

In addition to his professional career, Bill was a NAUI diving instructor, a lifetime member of the NRA, a photographer for the Maine Mariners ice hockey team and a certified U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary boat crew member. He served on the SAD 75 board of directors from 1984 to 1988, and was treasurer of APICS for over 15 years. He was passionate about John Deere tractors, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, boating, computers, his barn and his cats. He was the family “go-to guy” because he could figure out how to do anything!

Above everything, he was passionate about his family — he was a loving husband, father, brother and son. We will miss him desperately.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Topsham; a daughter, Emily K. Perry of Vero Beach, Fla.; a stepson, Matthew Lafreniere and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Baltimore; a sister, Katherine E. Perry, and brother, Mark E. Perry, both of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Lola Rose Lafreniere; a nephew, Kurt F. Perry; mother and father-in-law, Gerard and Valencia Menard; and an extensive in-law family.
