DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Hartford Community Church Women’s Association will hold its Fall Festival and Christmas Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Hartford Town Hall, Route 140 in Hartford. We are looking to collect food items for the Hartford Food Bank. If you can donate, please bring your food items to the fair. We will be selling items from crafters and local nonprofit organizations such as fall and Christmas gifts, fine jewelry, handpainted lamps, handmade wooden furniture, crocheted items, food items and you can buy your Saturday night bean supper and homemade pies, too. ANSWER: There may be other nonprofits hosting hunters’ breakfasts, these are the ones that Sun Spots located.  American Legion John D. Long Post 58 in Buckfield will host a Youth Day Hunters’ Breakfast from 5-9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Post, 58 Morrill Street in Buckfield. The cost is a $5 donation or $1 off with donation of non-perishable food items for the Post’s Thanksgiving baskets which are donated to food banks. This breakfast is open to the public and all hunters.

The West Paris Historical Society will host its annual hunters’ breakfast, known as the family breakfast, from 5-8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. For more information, call 207-674-2507.

American Legion Post 158 on Webster Road in Lisbon will host a hunters’ breakfast from 4:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Proceeds from this event will help fund life-saving equipment such as the automated external defibrillators for Open Door Christian Academy in Lisbon. ANSWER: Center Street Dental will host its 5th annual Halloween Candy Buy Back from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Norway Savings Bank Arena, 985 Turner Street in Auburn. The whole family will be able to skate for free at this event. For every pound of candy you bring in, you receive $1 and your school receives 50 cents. Also, gently-used costumes can be donated at this event. The candy will be donated to our troops and the costumes will be donated to the Auburn PAL Center.
