AUBURN — The Androscoggin County Budget Committee completed its review of the proposed 2016 county budget Wednesday evening.
The committee voted to send its version to a public hearing with the commissioners on Nov. 18.
The committee reviewed its adjustments and recommendations made during the past four weeks. No changes were made Wednesday.
County commissioners sent a preliminary budget to the committee that called for a 4.6 percent tax increase on a $12.4 million budget.
While the committee did not release its official final figures, the Sun Journal calculated the 2016 tax increase at approximately 1.09 percent.
Commissioners will review the budget and finalize it by Dec. 1.
