1940 – 2015
AUBURN — Lorraine (Jourdain) Lebel, 75, of Lewiston lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 2, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn with her family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston on May 30, 1940, the daughter of the late Henri and Florence (LeBlond) Jourdain. Lorraine grew up in the Lewiston area, attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1959.
Lorraine worked in the office at Bates Manufacturing Co. for 32 years. After the closing of Bates Manufacturing, she went to work for TD Bank in the back office, where she worked for 12 years, retiring in February 2013.
Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, knitting and sewing. On weekends, she loved going to dinner, plays and the movies with her daughter and friends. Lorraine also enjoyed family trips, playing bingo and traveling with her friends from the Lewiston Senior Citizens Group.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Michelle Lebel of Lewiston; her sons, Danny and his wife, Kristina, of Hebron, Donald and his wife, Kim, of Turner. Lorraine has four grandchildren, Joseph, Melissa, Cassidi and Cameron; and three stepgrandchildren, Jordan, Taryn and Sage.
