UPDATE: Missing Lewiston teen located in Los Angeles in good condition

LEWISTON — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a local teenage boy who boarded a bus for Hollywood, Calif., on Sunday and is reported missing.

James Ross Allen, 18, lives with his father in Lewiston, according to the boy’s mother, Laura Dumais, of Waterville.

She filed a missing person report with the Lewiston Police Department, which began an investigation.

Police said he may have been last seen getting on a Greyhound bus in Lewiston on Sunday with a one-way ticket to North Hollywood, Calif. According to the police report, the bus stopped in Portland and Wells, Portsmouth, N.H., Boston, Mass., New York City, Milesburg, Pa., and Cleveland, Ohio.

Police believe he may have gotten off the bus before the halfway point in Toledo, Ohio, because “he was not on the bus at that time. It is likely that Allen is in one of these locations,” the report said.

Dumais said they do not have any relatives in California.

She said her son, who is autistic, was dressed in a sweatshirt and jeans when he left Lewiston and had his laptop and phone. Police are hoping those devices can help them find Allen.

He is described as 6 feet, 4 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 207-513-3001.
