RANGELEY — Saddleback Mountain is telling skiers to expect details of its sale — and news of when it will open — next week.
“The Berrys and the buyer are in agreement on terms and now it’s just down to finishing the complicated paperwork … so we can all get down to important things like working on the hill!” the company said in a post on its Facebook page.
Among the Facebook responses from skiers desperate to hit the slopes: “Hell yes! Thanks to everyone involved.”
The fate of the mountain has been uncertain since ownership said in July it needed financing for a new, faster lift to open for the winter.
Saddleback is the third-largest ski resort in Maine and the third-largest employer in Franklin County.
On Monday, the resort listed full- and part-time seasonal jobs for lift operators, servers, cashiers, ski patrol and line cooks under “employment opportunities” on its website. General Manager Chris Farmer said the resort isn’t hiring yet but that the hiring timeline will be announced after the sale closes.
