1923 – 2016
LEWISTON — Jeannette T. Hartford, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 15, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born Oct. 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Honore “Henry” Bilodeau and Georgianna Bilodeau (Chicoine).
Jeannette was a devout Catholic who grew up in Livermore Falls. In her spare time, she enjoyed various activities including bingo, knitting, sewing, puzzles, ironing and reading in her later years. She was known to be a wonderful homemaker and cook. She always had Sunday dinners for her family. When she wasn’t cooking food herself, she always enjoyed a green pepper and onion Sam’s Pizza, “lightly baked.”
She devoted her time to her loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and was even blessed with great-great-grandchildren.
One of her favorite things to do was to pick berries, and she even did so this past summer at the age of 92. She was a proud woman and didn’t have a problem with telling it like it was. Jeannette was best known for her wit and humor and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Norman Bilodeau and his wife, Bernice, of Livermore Falls; granddaughters, Darcy Woodward of Auburn, and Stacy Morin and her husband, John, of Auburn; great-grandchildren, Maury-Anne, Kaleb, Cody, Ben and Jack; and great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Hannah.
She was predeceased by her parents; 10 other brothers and sisters; first husband, Roland Woodward; second husband, Herbert Hartford; and her daughter, Shirley Woodward.
The family would like to especially thank Danielle Boisvert for the special care that she has given to Jeannette over the past 13 years. It is truly appreciated.
