GRAY — Senior center Alanna Camerl tossed a game-high nine points to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a comfortable 42-22 victory over Waynflete in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Flyers (6-10) got off to a slow start in the first half, only scoring two points to trail 17-2 at the half. Senior guard Arianna Giguere scored a team-high eight pionts for Waynflete.
Skye Conley scored all seven of her points in the first quarter for the Patriots (12-4). Brianna Jordan augmented her four points with nine steals for Gray-New Gloucester in the winning effort.
Carrabec 44, Winthrop 20
SALEM — Mickayla Willette drained a game-high 13 points to lead Carrabec to a 44-20 victory over Winthrop in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Cobras (10-6) struck for a 23-13 hafltime lead. Liberty Chestnut contributed nine points, while Bailey Dunphy added eight for Carrabec.
Adlin Chaparin posted a team-leading eight points for the Ramblers (2-14) in the losing effort.
Mt. Abram 46, Lisbon 40
SALEM — Sophomore guard Meghan Sorel netted a game-high 12 points to lead Mt. Abram to a 46-40 victory over Lisbon in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
Following a hard start, the Roadrunners (5-11) went on an 18-4 tear in the second quarter to turn the momentum. Mt. Abram led 24-15 at the half.
Junior guard Kaylin Le and junior forward Jasmine Le scored nine points each for the Greyhounds (6-10).
York 72, Poland 52
POLAND — Senior guard Shannon Todd posted a game-high 22 points to lead York to a 72-52 victory over Poland in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Wildcats (16-0) jumped out to a 27-6 lead in the first quarter. Chloe Smedley contributed 19 points as York closed out the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run.
Sophomore guard Nathalie Theriault scored a team-high 16 points, while Jessica Seeley chimed in with 14 points for the Knights (6-10).

Vinalhaven 64, Buckfield 31
BUCKFIELD — Junior forward Cody Hamilton played the offense with free will as he notched a game-high 26 points to lead Vinalhaven to a crushing 64-31 victory over Buckfield in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Vikings (10-5) dominated in every quarter, adding to their lead in each frame. Vinalhaven took off in the second half with a 39-21 margin. Lewis Cray contributed 13 points.
Sophomore gaurd Ethan Jackson scored a team-high nine points on four field goals, including a three-pointer in the losing effort.

Girls’ basketball
Vinalhaven 47, Buckfield 46
BUCKFIELD — Deja Doughty drew a foul and sank her second free throw with 1.9 seconds remaining to vault Vinalhaven past Buckfield, 47-46, in East-West Conference girls’ basketball on Friday night.
Buckfield (6-11) had the ball under its own basket with seven seconds to go and a chance to win the game before committing a turnover. The Bucks rallied steadily throughout the game after trailing 12-7 after one quarter. The Vikings led 37-32 entering the fourth.
Gilleyanne Davis-Oakes led all scorers with 31 points for Vinalhaven (13-2). Alyssa Theriault and Kali Litchfield notched 11 points apiece to lead Buckfield, with Theriault sinking three of the Bucks’ five 3-pointers. Ashley Campbell added 10 points.
