DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all of the things you do for us. I enjoy reading your column every morning. It is one of the best items in the newspaper. I wonder if you know of anyone who repairs hearing aids. One of mine is broken and I don’t seem to know anyone in the Rumford area who does that work. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who does this work. — A.W.J., Rumford.

ANSWER: Central Maine Audiology has a doctor who they send to the hospital in Rumford two times per month on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. They are able to do some small repairs, or send hearing aids away for larger repairs, so the repair time depends on your exact need. You can reach them for an appointment by calling (207) 783-4284. If you’re willing to drive, then Sparkes Hearing Services on Front Street in Farmington does repair certain brands of hearing aids. It would probably be helpful to call them first at (207) 778-9545. Beltone New England also can do certain repairs. They have offices in both Farmington and Norway, but you do need an appointment first. Call (207) 743-8747 for their Norway office, or (207) 860-7240 for their Farmington location.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have the 1818-1968  Sesquicentennial  Historical Perry, Maine Souvenir Book and plate for a Perry citizen who might like to have them. They are free. I need to find a newspaper that is read in Perry. A paper that has a section like Sun Spots would be perfect. Thank you. — Libby, Lisbon.

ANSWER: Sun Spots knows of two newspapers local to Perry area readers. The closest one is The Calais Advertiser. You can reach the folks at that publication by calling (207) 454-3561 or by emailing editorcalais@gmail.com. Sun Spots is a fairly unique column, and the Calais paper does not have a column quite like this one. However, the editor there says she takes these requests on occasion and places them with their letters to the editor. There is also the Machias Valley News Observer. They can be reached by phone at (207) 255-6561. They would consider publishing your offer based on space available, or as a paid classified that they would run for no more than $7. For those who are curious, Perry is a small Washington County coastal community with a population of less than 1,000 and located a short distance south of Calais on U.S. Route 1.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: How does anyone call station WMTW? Thanks for all you do. — No Name, Waterford.

ANSWER: The number to the front desk at WMTW-TV in Auburn is (207) 782-1800.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I work at Edward Little High School, and I’m looking for anyone who would like to donate old trophies to our school. We would like to re-purpose them for different awards/recognitions throughout the year. We will purchase new name plates to affix to each trophy. If you would like to donate, please contact Heidi McCurdy at 514-4872. Arrangements can be made for pick-up. Thank you. — Heidi, Auburn.
