RUMFORD — Police said two Rumford men are accused of breaking into a Waldo Street business Sunday and stealing items to support their heroin habit.
Police Chief Stacy Carter said in a news release that Gregg Gibbons, 29, and Darren Thibodeau, 34, were each charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
The name of the business and what was stolen were not disclosed by police.
Carter said officers were called to the business and found evidence that led them eventually to the two men. The chief said Detective Peter Casey obtained a confession from Gibbons and Thibodeau, who admitted they committed the crimes to support their drug habit.
The men were unable to post the $2,000 bail and were transported to the Oxford County Jail in Paris. They are scheduled to appear in court April 1.
