BANGOR (AP) — A Bangor jury has cleared a Winslow police officer accused of using excessive force against a man in 2012.
The Morning Sentinel reported (http://bit.ly/1nNmCmY ) the jury on Monday cleared Officer Haley Fleming of an excessive force charge in connection with the January 2012 incident.
William Sadulsky alleged in a civil suit that Fleming and two other officers used excessive force, illegally entered his home and unlawfully detained him while responding to a noise complaint at his Winslow home.
He says his hands were raised when police used a stun gun on him.
Fleming’s lawyer says the jury found that Fleming was within his rights as a police officer to intervene with reasonable force after Sadulsky put another officer in a headlock.
Sadulsky’s lawyer says he’s considering an appeal.
