STOCKTON SPRINGS — The search continues for a Maine Maritime Academy student last seen in Orono in late February.
Maine Marine Patrol officials search for 21-year-old David Breunig, of Westbrook, by air and on the ground Sunday along the Penobscot River in Stockton Springs.
WCSH-TV reports (on.wcsh6.com/1RtnLOA) that a search party, including Breunig’s family and friends, searched on Saturday south of Winterport, where a dog teamed specializing in cadaver searches had alerted.
Breunig was last seen at about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 26, when he left a party and was walking toward the train tracks near a railroad bridge that crosses the Stillwater River.
Drivers earlier had searched the Penobscot River near where it connects with the Stillwater, thinking he may have fallen from railroad bridge.
