FARMINGTON — Alan Mencken and Howard Ashman’s satirical musical “Little Shop of Horrors” will be staged at 7 p.m. May 11, 12 and 13 in the Bjorn Auditorium on Mt. Blue Campus.
The play tells the story of meek flower shop assistant Seymour who pines for co-worker Audrey. He discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store.
Mt. Blue exchange student Gian Mendez plays Seymour; Jill Conant plays Audrey; and Ben Marcotte is florist shop owner Mr. Mushnik.
Other featured roles include Julia Ramsey, Caitlin Zamboni, and Molly Gurney as the doo wop Greek Chorus girls; Aidan Underwood as a sadistic dentist boyfriend, and Tommy Eng as the voice of Audrey II, with Ike Libby as the puppeteer. Chorus roles are played by Julianna Labul, Azayja Lamb and MacKenzie Wells.
The show is directed by Deborah Muise with assistance from Adrian St. Pierre and Krista Lyman.
Tickets are $10 and $7 and available at the door or by reservation by calling the Sandy River Players reservation line at (207) 779-7884. There is a limit of 300 tickets per night.
