People in the area are so fortunate to have so many places to see good-quality theater. One good example was the production of “Crossing Delancey” at the Public Theatre in Lewiston, which continues until May 15. It is the warm and funny story of a Jewish grandmother working hard to be sure her beloved granddaughter finds the right man. Just as you don’t have to be Catholic to laugh at the play “Nunsense,” you don’t have to be Jewish to see the funny side of this tug-of-war between the generations.

On the night that I went, the audience certainly appreciated it.
