RUMFORD — The Police Department responded to 117 calls for service in the past week.
* May 10, 7:11 p.m.: Michael Highsmith, 19, of Rumford was arrested on Franklin Street on a charge of refusing to submit to arrest/detention. He was released on $600 unsecured bail and is to appear in Rumford District Court on July 11.
* May 10, 11:18 a.m.: Sean Foster, 35, Mexico was arrested by Detective George Cayer on a charge of unlawful sexual contact. Foster was transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris.
* May 9, 6:50 p.m.: A 16-year-old Wilton male was issued a summons on a charge of criminal mischief regarding a broken window on the Island. He was turned over to his parents and is to appear in Rumford District Court on July 25.
* May 9, 2:39 p.m.: Evan Theriault, 18, of Rumford was arrested by Officer Matthew Desroches on a charge of aggravated domestic violence assault and obstructing the report of a crime or injury. Theriault was not eligible for bail and was transported to Oxford County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on June 13.
* May 8, 9:30 p.m.: A York Street resident reported the theft of a battery from his property. Sgt. Doug Maifeld responded and no suspect was found but the battery was located next to the building.
* May 8, 8:41 p.m.: Officer James McLamb responded to the Swain Road for report of a suspicious male. Alex Sprague, 23, of Rumford, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Lewiston District Court for failure to pay fines. Sprague was transported to Oxford County Jail.
* May 6, 8:38 p.m.: Anthony R. Scott, 34, of Rumford, was arrested on a warrant and a hold was placed upon him by Probation Officer Mike Downs for failing a urine analysis test. Scott was transported to Oxford County Jail.
* May 6, 5:47 p.m.: Patrolman Lawrence Briggs is investigating a report of burglary of a motor vehicle and theft of an iPad on Franklin Street. The iPad was recovered.
* May 6, 3:11 p.m.: A Piscataquis Street resident reported receiving a phone call from an individual claiming to be his nephew who needed bail money. The nephew was contacted and the call was determined to be a scam.
* May 6, 11:44 a.m.: A Hancock Street business owner reported theft of money. Sgt. James Bernard and Capt. Daniel Garbarini are investigating.
* May 6, 11:10 a.m.: Misty Blue, 32, of Mexico was arrested after she turned herself in on three warrants. She was transported to the Oxford County Jail.
* May 5, 2:59 p.m.: Elizabeth Barnett, 27, of Mexico was arrested on an outstanding warrant. She was transported to Oxford County Jail.
* A credit card and a set of keys were found separately on the Island and turned over to police.
* Complaints were received on the number of tractor-trailer trucks traveling on the Island. Tractor-trailers should be using Route 2.
