LEWISTON – The Mystery for Hire actors will present the two holiday performances at Marco’s Restaurant in December.
The troupe will host “Death with Father” Saturday, Dec. 20, and “Marriage Can Be Murder” on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.
“These shows are nonstop fun from the minute our guests arrive,” said Dan Marois, who with his wife, Denise, operates Mystery for Hire, a Maine based professional troupe that specializes in murder-mystery dinner theater.
Audience members are encouraged to take notes as they watch the mystery unfold. When a crime takes place, they become amateur detectives who try to figure out “whodunit?” At the end of the evening, the person who most correctly guesses who did the crime is the “super sleuth” of the evening.
“Death with Father” is particularly fun because the show takes place at a bingo fund-raiser for Our Lady of Almost Lost Causes Orphanage,” said Marois. “The show has a strange course of events and audience members actually play bingo. Our New Year’s Eve special takes place at a wild Italian wedding where there are lots of surprises.”
Tickets for the Dec. 20th show are $34.95 per person, which includes the show, buffet, tax and gratuity. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve show are $59.95 per person, which includes the show, a special buffet, tax, gratuity, music and midnight champagne. Volunteers from the audience will sing some karaoke tunes for the bride and groom. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
For reservations, people can phone Marco’s at 783-0336. Information is also at www.mysteryforhire.com.
