NORWAY – The next coffeehouse open mic night will be Friday, Nov. 28, in the Unitarian Universalist Church on Main Street. Sign-up for performers will begin at 6:30, and the open mic will begin around 7 p.m.

People of all ages are being encouraged to bring their acoustic musical instruments, original music, poetry and short fictional stories to share their creative talents in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Non-performing people are also encouraged to attend, organizers said. There will be vending opportunities for those artists with CDs or writing for sale and refreshments will also be available. There is even a 50/50 raffle!

Hosted by Maine performer and recording artist Heather Pierson, the open mic nights are also fund-raisers for local nonprofit and charitable agencies, and have raised hundreds of dollars to date for such causes.

For more information, people can contact Pierson at (207) 935-4505 or visit e-mail vesselrecordings@yahoo.com.

Admission is $3. This month, the coffeehouse will also be collecting nonperishable food items to be give to the Oxford Hills Food Pantry.
